One thing you might already know about me: I grew up in France. My accent is a dead giveaway! But something you might not know? I grew up on a farm in the south of France, where my father grew grapes and made wine.

So this Wedding Vendor Social was a little extra special to me, because it took place at a beautiful venue called The Vineyard at J Creek. As soon as you walk inside, you're greeted by a statement wine wall with multiple bottles on display... and the mood for the evening is instantly set.

Sure enough, wine tasting glasses were ready for us to sample four different wines, arranged from dry to sweet: one red, two whites, and another red as the sweetest—which is fairly unusual! These wines came from local Missouri grape varieties (I’m afraid I forgot the names), and they’re not the commercial grapes you’ll find in most grocery store bottles. That made the tasting even more interesting—getting to experience something more unique and regional.

Later in the evening, we heard from a guest speaker who shared techniques and tips for handling a busy wedding season without becoming overwhelmed. The insights were practical and encouraging—something every wedding professional can appreciate.

The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, conversation, and reconnection with fellow vendors. And of course... because I’m a photographer, I used the setting and light as a creative playground. I couldn’t help but let my inspiration run wild!

Scroll down to enjoy a few photos from the event—and if you’re ever looking for a charming vineyard venue near Kansas City, The Vineyard at J Creek is definitely worth a visit.
