Bride and groom during their Kansas City wedding at Lone Summit Ranch

There’s something truly special about a wedding at Lone Summit Ranch. The big sky, the open fields, the ranch, the white horse fence… everything comes together to create a venue that feels peaceful and full of possibility. Elsie and Jason chose this Kansas City location for their wedding, and the entire day felt exactly like them: joyful, honest, full of life, and centered around the people they love most.

A wedding day full of emotion and connection

Elsie and Jason met through their church, and many of their guests came from that community. They had a lot of friends and family who traveled to celebrate with them, and they wanted plenty of time to be present with everyone — to talk, laugh, and enjoy a full day of celebration.

Lone Summit Ranch is perfect for that kind of atmosphere. The venue gives couples room for a large guest list, and having both the ceremony and reception indoors is ideal for a November wedding when the weather can be unpredictable.

Everything unfolded naturally, which allowed me to work in my favorite way — as “a guest with a camera.” Immersed, intuitive, watching the day breathe and capturing the little and big moments as they happened.

A first dance no one will forget

Elsie and Jason surprised everyone with a full choreographed first dance — sharp transitions, fun movements, and so much personality.

I love capturing energy like that. Big movement, laughter, confidence, a couple completely in their element… those are the moments that keep a wedding album alive for decades.

Little touches that made the day theirs

Instead of a traditional cake, Elsie and Jason chose a massive cookie buffet. It’s a family tradition they were excited to share (Elsie’s mom maybe even more!), and it fit the day perfectly — fun, unfussy, generous, and delicious.

Why Lone Summit Ranch is such a great Kansas City wedding venue

If you’re dreaming of a Kansas City wedding that feels relaxed, natural, and full of emotion, Lone Summit Ranch is genuinely one of the best places for it.

It’s a venue that encourages authenticity — perfect for couples wanting images that feel real, vibrant, and full of personality.

Venue: @lonesummitranchevents We’ve already talked a lot about how perfect this venue is, and it truly delivered again.

Day-of Coordinator: @cyntimentalevents Super friendly, always smiling, and she does incredible décor as well. Definitely someone you should check out!

Hair & Makeup: @shanelisemua She uses a unique technique with a contrasty undercoat that blends beautifully at the end. The final result is soft, glowy, and very impressive.

Caterer: @brancatoscatering Delicious food, especially for a large guest count. They handled everything seamlessly.

Florist: @belfiorefarm Based in Lee’s Summit with a shop downtown. She grows many of her own flowers and creates truly artistic arrangements. Beautiful work.

DJ: @bfamekc If you’ve seen the photos of the dance floor, you already know he kept the energy high all night.

Photographer: @atnfoto_kc This guy is simply the best… but I might be a little biased here.
