They spent a year building a day that reflects who they are and the last thing they want is to be pulled away from the fun for photos.
They want to stay immersed in the celebration, surrounded by the people they love.
Most of the time, they forget I'm even there.
The couples I photograph never got too serious.
At their wedding, they are fully alive and happy to be there. Their joy is contagious, and before long everyone around them feels it too.
They value love in all its forms: their partner, their family, their friends.
Their wedding is a celebration of those values first.
My rides are made of people, emotions, color, light, geometry, laughs, people hugging, people in love, people showing that love.

The entire sequence was adorable.
But this specific frame made me stop.
Jolee leaning down to play with a little girl who had just stuffed her mouth with cake. She was one of them.
And I thought: That's it.
That's the link between every couple I've ever truly connected with.
I will see it in you too.
And when you open your gallery years from now, you'll see what everyone who loves you already sees: someone fully alive.
I made a promise to myself when I was eight years old that I would never forget what it feels like to be a child. And I did not forget.
The innocence. The joy. The aliveness. The curiosity. The instinct to find beauty in small things. The care for human connection.
While culling Jolee and Zack's wedding, I stopped on this photo.
They were cutting the cake, the traditional moment, except nothing about it was traditional. Five kids were exploding with excitement around them, waiting for their piece.
My accent is real. My jokes don't always land. People love me anyway.
I show up to your wedding like a guest, laugh with your friends, dance at the reception, and go home having lived your day as fully as you did.
I am hard to miss at 6'3" but it is easy to forget I am taking photographs.
And that is the point. The moment you forget the camera is the moment the photos become real.
French by birth, mechanical engineer by training, photographer by choice, fun uncle by nature.
